Are you an aspiring poet? Do you want to connect the world’s or poetry & hip-hop? Do you want to gain confidence on stage? Join this course as Nick coaches and encourages giving power to the poets. Learn more deeply about the complexities and politics of the spoken word. Nick will touch on the history of hip-hop and walk each student through finding your voice and preparing for an in-house open mic.

We could not talk about spoken word poetry without talking about it’s rebellious tendencies and political influences. A truly community-facing art form, spoken word is deeply concerned with the poet’s truth, and this session with explore how our truth, our identities and our perspectives can influence our art in bold new ways.
