Power to the Poets: Writing In New Seasons

Power to the Poets: Writing in New Seasons (4.26.2025)
Sale Price: $15.00 Original Price: $25.00

Life is full of seasons—moments of change, growth, and introspection. For poets, these transitions often spark the most powerful, raw, and transformative writing. This generative workshop is designed to help poets embrace the ebb and flow of life's cycles, encouraging creative expression through various life seasons and transitional periods.

Throughout this session hosted by Our Own Deep Wells, participants will explore how their personal experiences of change—whether it’s a shift in relationships, careers, or internal growth—can shape and fuel their poetry. With an emphasis on both process and product, the workshop will provide tools and techniques to spark inspiration, deepen creativity, and strengthen the craft of writing.

Workshop Elements Include:

  • Guided Freewrite Exercise: Begin with a gentle prompt to help you tap into your current emotional and creative state, allowing the writing process to unfold naturally.

  • Reading Excerpts: Engage with poetic excerpts that explore themes of change, transformation, and resilience, providing inspiration and opening new doors for your own work.

  • Writing Exercises: Hands-on prompts and activities to cultivate new ways of thinking about your writing, including finding imagery and metaphors that resonate with your personal journey.

  • Writing Prompts: Thought-provoking prompts designed to spark deeper reflections on the seasons of your life and provide a foundation for new poems.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have a collection of fresh writing, inspired by the transitions in their lives, and the tools to continue cultivating their poetic voice as they move through the ever-changing seasons ahead. Whether you're navigating a life shift or simply looking to deepen your writing practice, this workshop is an invitation to create, reflect, and grow through poetry.
